- Huggate has one of the deepest wells in England - 116 yards (106 m) deep.
- In October 1943, the Royal Air Force created an airstrip from steel mesh at Huggate Wold in preparation for the forthcoming invasion of Europe,
- There is a car park which ideal for visitors to the village or walkers exploring the many circular walks across the Wolds. In addition to the Wold Rangers Way, the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail passes to the north of the village.
