Sledmere

Sledmere is known for its beautiful Sledmere House, a Georgian country house and home to the Sykes family. It is also a charming village with a wonderful traditional English countryl pub, shops amnd cafe by the House, and surrounding countryside offering lots of opportunities for walking and cycling.

Here are our favourite facts about the village of Sledmere:

- Sledmere House was built in 1751 by Richard Sykes, and it has been the home of the Sykes family ever since. The house is surrounded by 960 acres of parkland, gardens, and farmland.
- There are many accounts of Wold Rangers in and around Sledmere - at the Triton Pub, The Forge and the Elanour Cross Memorial - have a read of our book to learn more.
- Just outside the village, and right on the Wold Rangers Way, you will find the Sykes Monument, a 120-foot column erected in 1865 in memory of Sir Tatton Sykes, 4th Baronet.

There are currently no businesses listed here, but please check back later as we're adding more great places all the time. Check out some other locations near to where you plan to visit and find lots more to see and do on the Wolds Rangers Way.
