As a small charity we’re really keen to provide guided walks and encourage people to get out and enjoy the Yorkshire Wolds. We also want to develop the Wold Rangers Way, put on new events and tell the stories of the Wold Rangers to everyone from walking groups to local schools. We therefore charge a small amount for some of our Walking Festival events while at the same time, ensuring there are minimal barriers to people getting involved.
- The shorter guided walks, some with local history talks usually are FREE
- Specialist events or those guided walks where we provide support or refreshments at the end have a charge to cover the costs
We carefully plan all walks, undertake risk assessments (and recce the routes) have insurance, provide a walk leader, a back marker, first aider and for some, provide water stops along the way - all with the support of our wonderful volunteers who offer their time freely.
